Busy having family fun

022(Jan) We headed over to Gilbert last Tuesday to see our grandson Stephen’s track meet. Watching Stephen with his teammate brought back many fond memories of spending many an hour in the bleachers watching our three sons. Our oldest son Brent joined us and we had a fun evening visiting and cheering on the Tigers. 022 (2)Stephen earned 2 second place finishes and his  team won the event. Brent, Donna and family live in the northern part of Ames, three miles south of Gilbert and are in the Gilbert  school district. We were very fortunate to find a place to boondock at one of the city parks adjacent to the soccer 011 (3)and ball fields. On Thursday we got to attend Katie’s softball practice.  She had not done little league before but shows promise of being a good player.  Michael’s team played a baseball game that evening and although Brent was there to take the team stats, Michael was home recovering from a very bad cold.   On Friday evening, Grandpa and I volunteered to stay with the five younger kids so mom and dad could take a turn in the bleachers. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend four days having meals, playing with kids and being parts of their daily lives.
