(Jan) Spring was just coming to Swan Lake State Park in the 22 days we stayed there. Trees were staring to bud and the grass was turning green. The campground hadn’t officially opened but they did allow several Full Timers a place to stay, however, ahead of the May 1st opening. One neighbor was friends Ron & Edna. We enjoyed several meals together some fun games of Pegs and Jokers and walks around the lake on days the weather warmed up. We were here early to be with mom and are grateful that we got to be with her before she passed away. Mom’s funeral was held on the 21st of March and all three of our sons, our daughter-in-law Donna and six of our grandchildren were able to be here. Pictured below are Eric, Ryan, Brent, Michael, Donna, Libby, Katie, Anne, Maddy, Jan, Chuck and Josh.

Many of my Mom’s and Dad’s families came to say final Good-byes. At right are Mom’s brother Frank, her cousins Mary Theresa and Esther, Her nieces, nephew and daughters Jolene, Jan, Tom, Cathy, Christine, Linda & Marilyn with mom’s sisters Charlotte, Agatha and sister-in-law Rose seated in front. We missed taking photos of so many gathered there.
Our family is really blessed that Glen and Mary Ann still live in this area as after the Funeral Dinner we all went to their place for down time and stories about mom. Linda and Richard stayed over night so we all went to church together in our home parish the next morning, had brunch with Glen’s family and then got to tour Susie and Weston’s new place. After that the six of us took time to sort through family pictures and a few of mom’s things. Again we are blessed that we all wanted us all together and happy more than we wanted any one ‘thing’.
Being in our ‘hometown’ area gave us time to go down to the farm. Chuck was able to talk to Lynn about tiling that needs to be done because of the heavy rains last year. Jan took time to have lunch with friend and former co-worker Bev. We were invited to dinner and cards at cousin Jerome and Dolores’ home along with friends Nancy & Calvin and Edna & Ron. There was also time for a Girls Lunch at friend Nancy’s house with Edna, Karen and Betty.
We were invited to Glen & Mary Ann’s for a fabulous family dinner in Templeton on Easter Sunday. It was great to be with extended family! That afternoon we stopped at the hospital to welcome their brand new granddaughter, Susie & Weston’s, Raelynn, who joined the family the night before, Easter Saturday. She’s beautiful & tiny & so sweet!
This week-end we are off to Ames for family time with Brent and Donna and family.
