Catching up–Washington and Oregon

(Jan)  We trying to decide if this Blog is dead or not. ?? Several of our Blogging friends have ceased writing and that may-be what happens to our Blog, also.  But just in case we decide to continue, here’s an update from August and the first part of September.IMG_20150829_111937210

Our time in Renton area with Chuck’s mom was very precious. Days were filled with visiting, cooking, games and a few shopping trips. Joanne is doing very well health wise and is still beating us at Rummykub.

Our time north of Seattle with the kids and grandkids was equally precious.  Lots of eating, playing games & puzzles, laughing and a trip to Snohomish for Isaac’s Football game, lunch and touring their fun downtown. Also added to the mix was watching the movie ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ and the Seahawks Football game and a debate about which cheese was best, Tillamook from Oregon or Beechers, a local Seattle favorite. The taste-off was tied 3 to 3 when our Moderator, Josh, had to do the blind taste and break the tie. The ‘Cheese-Off’ was followed by ice cream at Menchie’s and Shrimp Stir Fry for dinner. Really had a fun time with this family!

IMG_20150909_101021780On the Sunday before Labor Day we headed south to Oregon to meet up with our friends Dean & Judy at the Tillamook Elks. There were several other Boomers there,11752447_10206002816088216_3339748221952687806_n too, so we enjoyed Happy Hours and a Birthday party with Georgia, Tom & Kay & friends, and Ed & Shirley as well. A trip to the Tillamook Factory was in order for ice cream for the four of us, along with a day trip to McMinnville to see the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum; the home of Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose. It was a great trip and a fascinating museum. The Spruce Goose is Huge! We also enjoyed seeing the Space Exhibits, rockets & modules as well as the many commercial & military aircraft on display.

The snow crab was delicious along with a large variety of other yummy seafood and fish. Great time with good friends!

I know what you mean about whether to continue blogging. It does get to be a chore after a while. Love that first photo of Chuck with his mom....sweet. See you on Facebook.

I like blogs because you can go into more depth if you want, it's easier to post a bunch of pictures and comment on them or work them into your story, and it's easier for more people to get to it if they're not Facebook users. But I also sympathize with the time and effort it takes to write a good blog, and yours is one of the good ones!
