(Jan) After a week or so at MM99 near Quartzsite for Jan to recover from a cold, it was on to Boomerville up in Scaddin Wash. This is our 9th year. Much is the same and much is different each year. This year around 185 rigs checked in with a full 40 or so as first time attendees. They brought with them lots of energy and fun ideas. As my friend Dianne says “Everyday presented us many choices including hikes, daily walks, crafting, Zumba dance, daily happy hours, 4 by 4 ride adventures, karaoke with D.J. Marshall to the oldies, rocking it in the dessert with our own Boomer talent, wine tasting, homemade pizzas in a real earthen oven, meat & greet bbq potluck celebration for Betty & Duane's new rig , Chili Cookoff & potluck, singing & dancing in the dessert via video with an original Kingsman's member, 4 yummy pancake breakfasts by Gretchen (some of which included bacon, blueberries & cinnamon roll pancakes), men's donut runs, spending time around a campfire, amazing sunrises & spectacular sunsets, fun games with friends, talks on traveling to Alaska, Mexico & SKP parks, our CARE auction raised $7,000+ because everyone opens their hearts and their wallets, Comedy Improv, workshops on boondocking, solar, batteries, workcamping, coffee roasting, solar cooking, kayaking, dog speak, fire safety, healthy food options, enjoyed Cool theater with info on RVing in Europe, ABQ Balloon Fiesta, scavenger hunt, a fun pet parade with costumes, trip to the desert bar, several RV movies (think Long, Long Trailer w/Lucy & RV with Robin Williams), Casey's BBQ/smoked Rib & chicken potluck & of course attending the Big Tent & offsite vendors.” Whew lots to do!
